The Eyemouth disaster came about after a violent storm at sea and claimed the lives of 189 men and 29 fishing boats. Although there were warnings of a storm afoot, it was ignored on what is still known as Black Friday.

Folks, I've the day off work tomorrow and was considering a wee trip out to Eyemouth - probably just fishing with spinning gear and rag on the float. Been told it's a good venue for Pollack and wrasse. Problem is that I've never been there never mind fished from the shore!
